Why we stand up for bees
We are dependent on our bees. Unfortunately, very few people know how much actually depends on maintaining biodiversity.
We have made it our mission to educate people about the importance of bees (and other pollinators) to our ecosystem and to work with you to help preserve it.
What are we gonna do:
We want to create a platform where everyone, no matter where they live and what their options are, can do something for bee conservation and biodiversity. We provide an area from which you can take over a sponsorship. Per square meter 5 Euro will be paid. This sum will then be used as follows:
We donate the first Euro to a nature conservation or bee protection organization. The other 4 Euros will be used to use the area, together with the farmer, exclusively for bee protection in the next four years.
As a start, an area of 20,000 square metres is available and we have set ourselves the goal of planting this area with certified seeds of a bee-friendly flowering mixture in spring 2020. Together with a local beekeeper we will also set up beehives on this area.
Your lunch would probably not have been possible without the bees.
Bees are responsible for pollinating about one-sixth of the world's flowering plant species and about 400 different agricultural plant species.
Some examples of foods that would no longer be available to us if bees stopped pollinating our agricultural products are Broccoli, asparagus, cucumbers, pumpkins, blueberries, watermelons, almonds, apples, cranberries and cherries. And these are by no means all.
